Uganda Trek & Tanzania Safari

Overview

9-Day Uganda Gorillas & Tanzania Safari

Day 1 – Entebbe Arrival
Land in Uganda and settle in after your long-haul flight. A private transfer takes you to your hotel near Lake Victoria, where you can rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 2 – Entebbe → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Take a scenic domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, then drive into Bwindi’s emerald hills. This UNESCO World Heritage forest is home to nearly half the world’s mountain gorillas. Check in to your jungle lodge and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Day 3 – First Gorilla Trek in Bwindi
After an early briefing, set out with expert trackers into Bwindi’s dense jungle. The hike can be steep and muddy, but the reward is beyond words. You’ll spend an hour with a gorilla family, watching them feed, play, and interact at astonishingly close range. Return to your lodge with memories etched for life.

Day 4 – Second Gorilla Trek in Bwindi
A new day, a new trek, and a new family of gorillas. No two encounters are alike. Today may bring you to a silverback deep in the forest or to juveniles tumbling in the trees. With two permits, you double your chance to witness the full spectrum of gorilla life. Overnight again in Bwindi.

Day 5 – Bwindi → Serengeti
Fly from Bwindi region back to Entebbe, then connect to your direct flight into the Serengeti. By afternoon, you’ll be bumping along dirt tracks on your first game drive en route to camp. Elephants, giraffes, and big cats welcome you to Tanzania. Overnight in a luxury tented camp.

Day 6 – Serengeti Safari
At sunrise, the plains come alive. Lions patrol, cheetahs stalk, and wildebeest stretch across the horizon. Spend the day exploring one of the world’s greatest wildlife theaters. Overnight Serengeti.

Day 7 – Serengeti Safari
Another full day of safari, tailored by your guide. Follow the Migration herds if in season, or track predators through golden grass. Evenings end with sundowners by the fire, stars crowding the sky above your camp.

Day 8 – Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater
After a final Serengeti morning, drive into the highlands and descend into Ngorongoro Crater. This natural wonder shelters more than 25,000 animals in one of Africa’s most concentrated ecosystems. Picnic on the crater floor, then retire to a lodge perched on the rim.

Day 9 – Ngorongoro → Arusha → Departure
After breakfast, journey to Arusha. Depending on flight time, enjoy a leisurely stop for lunch or shopping before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey home.
